What's the Difference?

Its important to note that the iPod Nano is primarily a music player while the ipod Touch is a multimedia player / general entertainment  device all in one . Other than the camera and less storage space, the iPod Nano is essentially the original ipod classic in a smaller , sleeker package. While it does have less features it also costs alot less than the iTouch. The one thing that the Nano does have  over the iTouch is a camera for photos and video.

On-the-go Workout Partner ...

The iPod Nano's sleek , lightweight design and pedometer make it the ideal workout partner . With its smooth , low profile anodized aluminium, finish it comes in the greatest number of available colors of any of the ipod family. The iPod Nano 5G also has the ability to record voice memos which makes it a great on-the-go gadget that doesn't take up alot of space. A cool feature known as Voice Over speaks the name of artists and songs so you don't have to look at the screen. Wan't to checkout what the airwaves have to offer ? No problem . The iPod Nano has a built in FM Radio . With features such as Live Pause and iTunes Tagging it's far more than just your average radio.

Multimedia personal entertainment device ..

The basic feature-set of the iPod touch is immense. It does internet browsing, email, calendar, weather, stocks, notes, YouTube, and everything the iPod nano can perform. Additionally, the iPod touch can download and run most of the games found at Apple's App Store. The iPod touch employs WiFi (802.11g) to connect to the internet; a WiFi network is needed for some features to work, like internet. Also The accessibility characteristics of the iPod touch are terrific. It is able to invert colors to turn the text white on a black background, it is able to zoom, and it has a built-in screen reader. Because the iPod touch is a bit more advanced with its basic feature-set, the accessibility is more developed when compared . Navigation may take certain time to master and it may be slow going at first, but once the person becomes adapted to the user interface and learns the finger gestures necessary to navigate with accessibility, the  iTouch becomes an incredibly entertaining and useful device.

The features mentioned previously come preloaded on the iPod touch and all are compatible with the accessibility traits. The downside is that not all third-party apps found at the App Store are compatible with accessibility. You will have to ask others, or the app's creator, if a specific app is approachability friendly. I wouldn't let this deter you though. I use the preloaded features of the iPod touch regularly and find them to be worth the cost of the iPod touch. Not only that, but I have found several apps and even some games that are approachability friendly.  For viewing photos and videos, the iPod touch will do a much better job than the iPod nano. It has a 3.5" wide screen, enabling those with low vision to more simply see photos and videos, and also to see everything else the iPod touch can do.

In Summary ...

You get the sense reading in this article that the iPod Nano 5G is more of an on-the-go device while the iPod Touch 3G is more of a sit-down-and-relax device. A general rule of thumb in helping you choose is this:

If you plan to be using the ipod for listening to music etc ,while doing something else then the iPod Nano is probably for you. If you are looking for a device to keep you entertained for long trips , or boring alone time where you would otherwise be inactive , the iPod Touch is probably for you.

Where to Buy?

Whichever you choose , it is important to get it with a storage capacity that fits your needs and at a discounted price , which saves you money.
