IPhone 3Gs Insurance Review- Top Tips

Have you checked how much iPhone 3GS insurance is if you purchase through your high street provider? I almost fell off my seat when they told me that it was 15 pounds per month. Crazy! That’s more than one third of my total contract price. Problem is I refused to pay it, and then lost my iPhone 3GS the following week. Wow, that was a costly mistake.

I don’t want you guys to fall into the same trap that I did, but i also understand if you don’t want to pay the ludicrous high street provider amount per month. Well read on guys – every single word within this article I believe is iPhone 3GS insurance gold if there is such a thing! There is no doubt I can save you a lot of money and save you the heartache that was felt when I lost my iPhone without insurance!

iPhone 3GS INSURANCE – TOP 3 MONEY SAVING TIPS

1. Go with an independent online insurance product – Guys, when you type in ‘iPhone 3GS insurance’ into Google there are over 19,000 results. Don’t pay the high street prices. Get onto Google and do a bit of research. Things to look out for include ‘no tie in period’ and 24 hour replacement handset service. For example, you don’t want to have to pay for 12 months and then find out you are not happy, and not be able to cancel. I believe if you do your research correctly the will save up to 50% on high street provider prices.

2. Talk to your bank about what your premium account can offer – Did you know that many premium accounts (Lloyds TSB springs to mind) offer complimentary iPhone 3GS insurance? Its hard to believe isn’t it, especially in this day and age when the banks are really despised. Personally I don’t like this option as much as ‘number 1′ because they will find anyway possible to reduce your claim, or stall it. They are, after all, banks, and they have to look after the bottom line. One thing to check also, is how much they actually cover. A new iPhone 3Gs costs in the region of £600 and they probably wont cover you for the entire amount. Still though, its a pretty good service for free!

3. Home Contents Insurance – If you are a home owner you will definitely have contents insurance for when someone breaks into your home, or when something breaks down.
Within this policy will be a ‘personal effects’ category and within that, your mobile phone should be insured up to a certain point. Again, you will need to check how much this amount is, and you will also check that your no claims bonus will not be affected. I actually purchased ‘no claims bonus’ protection for a nominal amount per month. Its a nice little loophole, but unfortunately they will make you fill out a mountain of paperwork usually.

What do you think people? I bet most of you didn’t know about these cool little loopholes. As I have mentioned, its not rocket science, however I am hoping they will save you a lot of money, even though they vary in amount saved.

In all honesty though, I would advise going with an independent company, mainly because its hassle free, fast and offers the best value for money. The most impressive product researched was found at iPhone 3GS Insurance

Another important point to note is that they should have a 24hr replacement service and a product which allows you to cancel at anytime. You will be surprised at what the banks offer for free these days to get back some good will with the general public. Try Lloyds TSB premium account – these guys offer complimentary phone insurance as part of their package. Make sure though that you check how long it will take you to get a new phone, and how much they will cover you for. A new iPhone 3Gs will cost around £600 as mentioned. Be prepared though to jump through hoops to get your money!

3. Check your Home contents insurance – Most home contents insurance packages will have a ‘personal belongings’ category and you will be covered if you lose them even when not at home. Interesting isn’t it? You can even add no claims bonus protection which was a huge advantage for me, as I hadn’t had a claim for a long time. Uncategorized | Tuesday March 9 2010 3:46 am | Comments (0) Tags:

Insurance for iPhones is probably something, in hindsight, I should have researched and taken up months ago. Why? Because I ended up losing two iPhones in the space of 3 months. And I wasn’t insured! That’s an expensive little mishap there ladies and gentleman! Please don’t make the same stupid mistakes that I did. Why wasn’t I insured? Because I refused to pay the outrageous amount quoted by the high street companies. Last time I checked it was around £15 + VAT per month. I still refuse to pay that much.

I am now insured, and I am paying half that amount for exactly the same cover. That means when leave my phone in the back of a cab, or drop the phone down the toilet by mistake I will be 100% covered and will have a new phone by my side within 24 hours. How did I do it? Well read below for my three sneaky loopholes!

INSURANCE FOR iPhone – 3 SNEAKY LOOPHOLES

1. Online insurance companies – A simple search for ‘insurance for iPhone’ in Google yielded over 419,000 results. Folks there are a lot of insurance companies out there. None of which will charge you £15 per month. That’s right guys, you can find exactly the same cover for up to 50% of the price quoted by the high street providers. Just make sure that the online company are reputable, offer 24 hr phone replacement, and also don’t tie you in for too long. Its as simple as that really.

2. Are you a home owner? – If yes, then you have a huge advantage. You will definitely have home contents insurance which means you can call them up and check if they can add your iPhone to the policy. In most cases, you may be surprised to hear that it is already covered in the ‘personal belongings’ category. There will be certain items which you are covered for inside and outside of your home such as watches, jewelry and mobile phones! Pretty cool hey. Just ensure that you can protect your name claims bonus – I did this for a couple of extra pounds per month. No sweat!

3. Do you own a bank account in the UK? – I think its a fairly good bet that you do! Well there are a few banks out there at the moment who offer insurance for iPhone to their premium account holders. Don’t be put off though, premium accounts are not that hard to obtain. Most banks are begging for your custom in the current economic climate. They will insure your iPhone for free. How cool is that? Please be aware though that the latest iPhone will set you back £500+ and usually the banks wont cover the full amount. You will also have to pay an excess of £50 or so each time you make a claim which will eat into the amount you have left to buy a new iPhone. Overall though its not a bad service for costing you nothing!

There is my three top sneaky loopholes ladies and gents. Please don’t pay over the odds for a product you can get for half the price!

In all honesty though, I would advise going with an independent company, mainly because its hassle free, fast and offers the best value for money. The most impressive product researched was found at iPhone 3GS Insurance

IPhone 3Gs Insurance UK Review- Top Tips And FAQs

Uncategorized | Tuesday March 9 2010 3:46 am | Comments (0) Tags:

Imagine yourself waking up on a Sunday morning after a night out on the tiles, and immediately reaching for your brand new iPhone to check if you have any missed calls from your mates. But then reality hits, you remember that your left it in the cab the night before. Then reality hits even harder. Your iPhone wasn’t even insured, as you refused to pay the extortionate high street prices. Bad move. Expensive mistake. Let me explain to you a few cheap iPhone insurance loopholes I have recently researched which will save you lots of money.

But first, lets talk figures. Last time I checked, iPhone insurance purchased from the ‘big swingers’ in your local shops was around £15 + VAT per month. The average monthly tariff for an iPhone is approximately £35 per month. Doesn’t something seem wrong here? Why are we all paying such a huge percentage of the monthly tariff? To me it just doesn’t seem right. And I have done some research to prove my point. Read carefully below and I am sure you will be saving lots of money by finding sneaky ways to find cheap iPhone insurance.

CHEAP iPHONE INSURANCE – 3 SNEAKY WAYS TO SAVE

1. Approach an independent insurance company online – There are plenty of great companies out there ladies and gentleman. Do a simple Google search for ‘cheap iPhone insurance’ and I am sure you will find pretty quickly that help is not too far away. In most cases I would expect you to save up to 50%, which is quite a lot of money over a 1 year period. Just remember to make sure you have a full policy, 24 hour phone replacement, and the ability to cancel at anytime. You don’t want to be tied into a 12 month contract.

2. Approach your bank – This is a pretty sneaky one guys! Who would have thought in today’s day and age these guys would let you have something for nothing? Crazy! But its true. For example Lloyds TSB offer free mobile phone insurance service to those people who have a premium account with them. Dont worry a premium account is not too difficult to obtain. Just be aware though that they wont cover the full amount of the latest iPhone, and they will also force you to fill out some pretty hefty paperwork in the event of a claim.

3. Approach your home contents insurance company – My home is insured by Halifax (although any insurance company will be the same) and they offer a pretty cool loophole to get cheap iPhone insurance. They will insure personal belongings such as watches, diamond rings and you guessed it, mobile phones in and out of the house. Again, they most likely wont cover you for the full amount, and there will be some paperwork to take care of. But still its a very cool way to save money. Just make sure you get ‘no claims bonus’ protection which cost me an extra few pounds per month.

Guys, above are three sneaky loopholes which will save you a lot of money if used correctly.

In all honesty though, I would advise going with an independent company, mainly because its hassle free, fast and offers the best value for money. The most impressive product researched was found at iPhone 3GS Insurance
